Qld: Four dead in highway smash
Four people have been killed in a head-on crash on the Bruce Highway near Townsville in far
north Queensland.
Police say three of the victims -- a man, a woman and a boy -- were travelling in a station
wagon with New South Wales registration.
The other person killed was a man travelling in a Queensland-registered sedan.
Two other occupants of the sedan were flown by rescue helicopter to Townsville hospital,
one in a serious condition.
The accident occured about 3.50pm at Palm Creek, just south of Townsville.
The highway was closed to traffic for some time following the accident.
